A Moment to Breathe

Kids of Courage/Tours of Courage provides necessary respite to the remarkable families who care for their sons, daughters, brothers and sisters every day without rest. By allowing our courageous children to go on medically supervised dream trips, we also give their families a few days off to relax and recuperate from the physically and emotionally exhausting lifestyles they lead.

Most importantly, however, Tours of Courage is about the kids. These heroic children battle for their lives, sometime for every breath. They inspire others with their strength, tenacity and dazzling will-to live. We are giving them the opportunity to live like other children and experience life in the best way imaginable .We help them forget the tubes and pumps and needles and the daily challenges and experience the thrills of carefree childhood happiness.

Kids of Courage services over 300 families with seriously sick children and young adults (read more: Camper Diagnosis List) The programming goes on all year round complete with trips, weekends and fun events. (read more: programming 2009/2010).All services provide by our organization is free to the families we service. We firmly believe that the families we serve have enough burdens in their lives without worrying about the finances needed to provide fun and respite. Our staff is all volunteer. There are no salaries or financial compensation to any members of the team. This differentiates Kids of Courage from most other organizations anywhere in the world. Kids of Courage relies wholly on the charitable donations that we receive from generous donors.
