Hatchbacks has created a line of footwear made especially for children who wear braces (AFO’s). These shoes are sized wider to accommodate the braces, and open in the back rather than the front to make dressing easier.
Shoes come in a number of styles and colors for children and teenagers. Prices start at $63.95 plus shipping. They are sold by order only, and are not available in stores. Orders usually arrive within 7-10 business days, if the item is in stock.
To get the correct size for these shoes, call or go online for exact measuring instructions. Please note--the sizes do not run the same as the sizes of regular shoes.

Combining fashion with function, BILLY Footwear is made with universal design which incorporates zippers that go along the side of the shoes and around the toe, allowing the upper of each shoe to open and fold over completely. Thus the wearer can place his or her foot onto the shoe footbed unobstructed. Then with a tug on the zipper-pull the shoe closes and secures overtop the user's foot.
Selections are available in Men’s, Women’s Kids, and toddler sizes including medium and wide width. Many of the current styles do accommodate AFOs, and a new line is planned specifically for AFO users which will be wider, deeper, and have an internal lining that is tear resistant.
