East Ramapo School District

An effort is being made by Agudas Yisroel to increase and expand services for children with special education needs in the East Ramapo School District. A survey is being taken to identify the children in East Ramapo School District who have special education needs. The purpose is to have solid data to present to the District and the State. Disability Legal Assistance

The Northern Manhattan Immigration Coalition has announced a grant to provide legal services for those denied federal disability benefits under the SSI or SSDI programs. Sports Grants

The Challenged Athletes Foundation provides grants of up to $1,500 towards sports and physical activity for individuals with physical disabilities including visual impairments. The application is open until the beginning of November 2023. See www.challengedathletes.org/programs/grants/

 

Adaptive At Walmart

Walmart recently introduced an adapted section on its website with a curated collection of items all created to be accessible. The selection includes adaptive utensils and tableware, assistive devices, sensory-friendly toys, backpacks designed to work with wheelchairs, hearing aids, adaptive clothing and much more. “Adaptive at Walmart” is expected to be an ongoing offering with additional products added over time.
