Guardianship Clinic & Financial Planning For the Future

Many parents are not aware that when their child with special needs turns 18, we are no longer considered their legal guardians. Parents whose children are over 18 and are unable to care for themselves, must petition for guardianship of their child in Surrogate Court. As a service to our families, TAFKID will be holding a free guardianship clinic after Pesach with attorney Sarah Moskowitz who will help with the process including assistance in completing the forms. Sarah will also be holding a workshop on special needs trusts, wills and financial planning for the future and protecting our children’s benefits. If you are interested in participating in these workshops, please call 718-252-2236 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
