Medical Mutts Online Training For Service Dogs

Training a service dog is a long and complicated process that until recently was only done by specialized trainers. Medical Mutts has offered private and group classes, teaching owners who could travel to their facility how to train their own service dogs. They now offer an online program to help those who might be confined at home who have qualifying dogs. The program is divided into four different segments, with assessments at every level. The owners and their dogs don’t need any training experience to get started and can enroll at any age. The classes are live and interactive. Owners learn how to get the best out of their dogs and train them to do more than 30 behaviors. As they progress through the program, the dogs learn to help with a specific disability, such as diabetes, seizures, psychiatric, autism, mobility support, etc. The training methods are fun and kind to the dogs. They are not forced into obedience but are taught to collaborate willingly. For more information, visit www.medicalmutts.org/group-classes. Dogs must be assessed before being enrolled.
