Selective Mutism Camp

Camp Kol Ram is an intensive weeklong sleep-away program for children ages 4-18 which will take place in the Eastern USA this summer. It is an Orthodox therapeutic camp designed to treat Selective Mutism in a wholesome and holistic environment using the highly effective approach pioneered by Senior Psychologist Ruth Perednik, Clinical Director. The junior division (through 8th grade) will be run as a day camp format with the campers sleeping with their parents on site while the high school program will be a full sleep away camp experience. All groups will be limited to 15 participants with one on one counselors to help maximize the effectiveness of the therapy. Training and support sessions will be provided to participating parents as well. They offer follow up support services to ensure that any progress achieved during camp will be carried over to your child’s home and school environment. Separate camp sessions for girls and boys. Anxiety In Young Children Study

The Anchors Project is an online study by the Kansas City Center for Anxiety Treatment and Virtually Better. They are examining ways of delivering family education and self-help tools for improving abilities to respond to common worries, fears, and other emotional health features in childhood, possibly reducing later needs of professionally delivered therapies. Participating families must have a child age 6–11 without current or recent needs of clinical-level mental health care, and a personal iOS mobile device (iPhone 6 and up, or an iPad with Touch ID). Medication Recall

Aurobindo Pharma USA is voluntarily recalling 80 lots of high blood pressure & heart failure medication Amlodipine Valsartan Tablets USP, Valsartan HCTZ Tablets, USP and Valsartan Tablets USP due to traces of N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a “probable human carcinogen,” being found in the active ingredient valsartan in the recalled products. A full list of the recalled products is available here. Products can be identified by checking the product name, manufacturer details, and batch or lot number on the bottles. Expiration dates range from May 2019 to March 2021. The FDA says patients who are prescribed these medications should continue taking their medication, “as the risk of harm to the patient’s health may be higher if the treatment is stopped immediately without any alternative treatment.” If a patient’s medicine is included in the recall, they should contact their health care professional to discuss alternative treatment options before returning their medication.
