Autism Study---The Blum Study is conducting a 14-week phase-3 clinical research study of 3-8 year old children with autism to see if CM-AT, an investigational drug targeting the relationship between the gut and the brain, can reduce the symptoms of autism. There are no needles and no pills. Participants receive study related examination and medication, as well as reimbursement for travel. New Jersey Rental Assistance---The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs is accepting pre-applications for the lottery for the Family, Disabled and Elderly waiting lists for the State Rental Assistance Program.  Pre-applications will be accepted starting March 6, 2017 through March 10, 2017, and pre-applications selected in the lottery will be placed on the waiting list.  For details visit http://www.nj.gov/dca/divisions/dhcr/srap_vouchers.html.

Heating Assistance---The United Way of Long Island’s Project Warmth is accepting applications for its emergency fuel fund. It provides individuals and families who are unable to pay their heating bill with a one-time grant directly to the oil and utility companies on behalf of eligible residents who are facing a disconnect notice or running out of fuel. Social Skills Group---Beit Reizel is opening new social skills groups for elementary-aged boys and girls (mixed) who are interested in developing their social skills. Disabled Winter Sports---EREZ, an organization founded by alpinists, is looking for children ages 11-189 with a physical disability in the lower extremities who are interested in snow-skiing on a monoski. The organization provides training and equipment, transportation to the skimulator in Holon and then to Mt. Hermon (under the child/family’s responsibility).
