Urgent NoticeRecent events have shown how important it is to keep a copy of your child’s medical records in an easily accessible place. Even better—keep a second copy of the most important information in a different location! Many people were displaced during Hurricane Sandy with no list of medications or any other important medical records. NYU Medical Center evacuated all patients WITHOUT ANY RECORDS because all data on their computer system was lost! Patients were sent to other hospitals with no records or lists of medications whatsoever! Even many doctor’s offices and clinics lost everything during the storm. Having your own copy of medical records can help avoid serious errors and possibly even save your child’s life.
