We used "Dr. Barman's Superbrush" to brush my dd's teeth. She's clamp her mouth shut and not allow us near it. This brush has a flat handle which allows us to get it in even when she closes her mouth, AND, the great thing about it is that it wraps around the tooth so that it does all three sides at once, so you can spend a lot less time brushing if your child has a hard time with it.
I'd recommend it to any parent of a child with special needs, sensory issues, etc. etc.
