Asthma - synopsis

A chronic respiratory condition in which the air passages (bronchial tubes) to the lungs become inflamed, causing the tubes to narrow. 

This results in intermittent attacks of coughing, shortness of breath, and sometimes wheezing.  Treatment includes medications called bronchodilators to reduce inflammation and relax the air passages, along with environmental control and general health maintenance.   See Allergy
