Jobs Daughters is a teen oriented organization that, among its activities, raises money to support the HIKE FUND.

 

The HIKE Fund Inc. has awarded many types of devices for the hearing impaired including: Hearing Aids, FM Systems, Closed Caption Converters, Tactile Units, Alerting Systems, and Specialized Sports Equipment.

Through HIKE, Job's Daughters International has embraced the needs of hearing impaired children. If you know of a child who needs a hearing assistive device and is financially unable to obtain assistance, please contact us.

Foundation For Sight and Sound offers the Help America Hear Program which provides NEW high quality hearing aids Nationwide to men, women, and children with limited financial resources. This program is to be used as a LAST RESORT. Applicants are to exhaust all other financial resources including but not limited to, available credit, family support, money market accounts, mutual funds, 401(k) plans, trust funds, annuities, and savings/checking and State sponsored programs.

Approved applicants are eligible to receive two hearing aids, custom ear molds and one year limited service. After an application fee, (except Tier II) the only expenses are the cost of the hearing evaluation, Medical clearance, batteries, any accessories and extended loss & damage warranties (strongly recommended). These costs are not paid by Help America Hear. Applicants may apply once every five years.

Tier 1 Costs: Application Fee: $250 for 2 aids, $125 for one

Tier 2 Costs: Application Fee: $250 for 2 aids, $125 for one

Upon Approval: $800 for 2 aids, $400 for one

The Miracle-Ear Foundation provides hearing aids, follow-up care, and educational resources to people with hearing loss who demonstrate personal inability to financially provide for their hearing health needs.

In order to qualify for this program:

  • Applicants must have a hearing loss that requires amplification (hearing aids), children who have a mild or greater hearing loss, adults who have a moderate or greater hearing loss.
  • Applicants are seeking help from the Miracle-Ear Foundation™ as there are no other resources available including but not limited to: insurance, state Medicaid program, VA or vocational rehab, state or local programs, and other charity sources.
  • Applicants must complete an application form and provide a current audiogram. Children 18 years and younger must have medical clearance dated within the last 6 months signed by a physician (MD, ENT). While medical clearance is encouraged for adults, a signed medical waiver is acceptable.
  • Applicants must have an income level which does not allow the family to receive public support – see specific income eligibility requirements. Total household income must be at or below the chart provided to qualify and demonstrate personal inability to financially provide for hearing health.
  • Applicants must possess a family commitment to intervention, rehabilitation, and necessary follow-up services, which is especially important for a child applicant as they grow.
  • Applicant must be a resident or citizen of the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

Applicants must contact their local Miracle-Ear store to submit the application, supporting documents and application fee ($150 adults only). The Miracle-Ear store will make their referral and forward your application to the Miracle-Ear Foundation for approval. You will receive notification by mail within 3 weeks if your application has been approved or denied services.

The Oticon Pediatrics Loaner Bank Program will provide a loan of hearing aids and earmolds for children, birth to three, who are in need of immediate amplification when amplification is not readily available. These children are typically waiting for third party reimbursement approval. Loan is made for a period of three months to the facility that services the child.

– All Safari instruments (312, 13P and 13 Super Power BTE models). In addition, the following Amigo FM models are available: R2, R12, T10 and T30.

An earmold will be provided at no charge for each hearing aid requested. An earmold request form must be completed by the hearing care professional and sent directly to OtoTech along with the ear impressions. Each earmold comes with a 30 day one time remake warranty.
