A common respiratory illness due to infection in the lungs caused by bacteria, virus, or aspiration.  It can range in severity from mild to severe, or even fatal.  Symptoms include difficulty breathing, chest pain, cough, fever, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, aching muscles and joints, and fatigue.  Treatment is by antibiotics and/or antiviral medications, fluid intake, and in more severe cases, oxygen and ventilation.
