Also know as syndrome X.  A metabolic disorder where patients have very high glucose blood levels, usually due to insulin resistance, and high levels of triglycerides and cholesterol.  They may also have hypertension (high blood pressure), kidney disorders, and blood clotting disorders.  They tend to have a sedentary lifestyle, be overweight, and have a high intake of carbohydrates.  Their body fat is usually concentrated in the abdominal cavity.  It can result in life threatening heart and cardiovascular disease.
