Chris Klein, a member of the AAC-RERC Writer’s Brigade, has partnered with David McNaughton, Pennsylvania State University, and is creating YouTube videos that share success stories of those with speech disabilities/complex communication needs (CCN), and the methods they use to communicate. These communication strategies are collectively referred to as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and have created new possibilities for people with CCN.

Each video features a person with CCN demonstrating his/her unique AAC strategies, while shedding light on their achievements in an important area of adult life (e.g., community living, post-secondary education, employment ).  In this way, the viewers can see AAC tools that can give a person with a disability the opportunity to become a member of his/her community, and to live life  as fully as possible.
