VolunteerThank you for visiting our "Volunteer" page. We are glad you are willing to join us, and are sure that together we can make other parents' load a little easier. There are a few ways you can help us reach out and help other parents. Join our contact listJoin our growing database, and agree to have us refer "new" parents to you. One of our main services is putting parents in touch with each other. A parent can contact us, give us some basic information, and request to speak with another parent dealing with a similar condition. We will then look for the most appropriate match, and give the contact information to the caller. Please note: You can choose any means of contact – phone number, email address, or other. Fill out our surveysAs you might know, we are now in the middle of preparing an exciting new feature where parents can share information, recommendations and tips with each other. In order to build our initial database so that we can open the feature up to the public, we are conducting a survey – or rather, a series of short surveys – which we ask parents to fill, and which will give us some information about the doctors you've used, methods you've tried and found helpful, organizations you know, and more. The information you will share with us, along with anything else you wish to tell other parents about each, will then be featured on our site under a username that you will choose (so as to protect your privacy). In addition, any other material you have accumulated over the years – including articles, poems, and anything else you feel can benefit other parents – will be a welcome addition to our site. There is loads of work to be done, from data entry to internet research to translating and more. For those of you who enjoy this type of work, you will surely take pleasure in knowing that every bit of work you do directly assists parents in finding information that would otherwise not be available to them. We are well aware of the fact that as parents of children with special needs, your time may be limited. Please let us know how much time you feel you can offer and we will send you some work to complete at your own convenience and pace. DonateBeineinu's expenses are relatively minor, but with no government funding, we rely heavily on people's generosity in order to be able and continue. A few hundred dollars translate into new printing material which then lets more parents know and benefit from Beineinu; or reassuring care packages for new mothers who have just received a diagnosis; or additional features on the site that then help thousands of parents like you. Since all work is completely volunteer-based, Beineinu's expenses are relatively low, so you know that every donation of any amount – really makes a true difference. |
